KuN(s)T-ity is an arts practice and production company. Ran by Alastair James Flindall.

Focussing on the study of social interaction; adopting mediums of film, performance, sculpture and photography the work differs in production style. Still in an experimental stage of research, the audience is often the focal point of the work.

The term 'KuN(s)T-ity' is derived from the words 'Kunst' and 'Unity'

'Kunst' translates as 'Art' in German as well as Danish, Dutch, Estonian, in Afrikaans it is 'Kuns' and the Swedish say 'Konst'.

Adopted due to cultural significance of Northern European mannerisms in interaction.

'Unity':

  • (uncountable) Oneness; the state or fact of being one undivided entity.

  • A single undivided thing complete in itself.

1999, joyce Crick, translating sigmund Freud, The interpretations of Dreams, Oxford 2008, p.137:

If a single day has brought us two or more experiences suitable to initiate a dream, the dream will unite references to them both into a single whole; it obeys a compulsion to form a unity out of them. [transl. Einheit]

Working with a predominantly passive audience in Britain the aim is to seek to challenge the perception of conventional interaction taking examples from other cultures and fictional realities. Popular culture is the main source of the fictional realities as it can appear detached from everyday life yet often integral to it.

I am a particiaptive KuN(s)T-ist. The (s) is optionally silent as I can be a KUNT...ist.
